Unacceptable Team AI in MyCareer
Every single year the MyCareer mode is broken. I play as a pass-first, Jason Kidd style point guard. Every game I pass the ball to guys who are open from 3, who never take the shot. I see guys brick open layups constantly. Meanwhile, the other team needs to be guarded with God-like precision to keep them hovering at about a team FG% of 50%, usually more (which is ridiculous). Scrubs on the opposing team make incredible shots. I see people on my team sagging off and offering me help defense when they shouldn't be, leading to open baskets for the opposing team.

My teammate will begin to cut from the post out to the top of the key, and I'll pass assuming he's going outwards, but he just stops so the pass gets intercepted. Players don't recognize the direction I want them to go in when I pass it to them. This was a problem on PS4's NBA 2k14 as well, but this year it's three times as bad.

And your teammates always pass you back the ball. Always. I cannot stand this. If you have space, take the shot. There used to be a button in some basketball game to tell your teammate to shoot. I don't remember if this was in NBA 2k, but if it was please put it back in. If it wasn't, please give us the option. The AI is inept, to the point that the game mode is useless. I can already see I'll need to score 20-25 off the bench, or 45 ppg as a starter to get wins because no one else wants to score.

And I'm extremely good at this game. This is the only game I am really that good at. I understand how basketball should be played. I've only skipped one or two NBA 2k games going back literally ten or eleven years. I even played the first NBA 2k on a friend's Dreamcast. This is going to be the last time I buy this game because I simply cannot stand how broken this mode is, how consistently the complaints have been about this mode's AI, and how Visual Concepts just outright refuses to change it to make it better.

By the way, why am I playing over Lance Stephenson as a mid-60s rated PG? Why am I getting mins over Kemba Walker? Why can't these guys even hit 75% of the shots they do in real life?

I just started playing again, and two shots in a row by professional basketball players from the baseline have hit the side of the backboard. Two in a row. It's just insane. The problems have actually gotten worse from every other year. Why is this programmed this way? I used to love this mode, but it actually gets worse every year.

You are not very good then, I averaged 24 assists a game in 2k14 my career. This year not as much but it is still not very hard. Just put you're players in good positions to score. Either down low near the hoop or out at the 3 point line LATE in the shot clock. Not very hard. Keep playing and trying different strategies, I actually find it the easiest position for my career.

I literally just passed Lance Stephenson an open 3 in the corner which he then shoots off the side of the backboard, after 2 players already did the same thing from midrange open shots. I also just passed Gary Neal an open layup, which he missed. How is my skill at all involved when the AI misses open shots? I don't know what difficulty you play at, I'm at HoF difficulty and the AI loses leads when I'm not in the game and when I'm in they don't make or take open shots. I'm playing right now and watched Al Jefferson miss an open layup a minute ago. It's just bad balancing. How you average 24 assists, I don't know. Maybe you're on lower difficulty.

When you playing a center on HoF with around 70 in Off and Def Rebounding and you are averaging 16.8 boards a game. Like, rebounding was ♥♥♥♥♥♥ before but now it seems a tad bit too easy. The AI never boxes me out for some reason.

Rebounding last year was actually easier for a guy who was 6'8 than a guy who was over 7 feet tall. I was a 6'10 PF and averaged about 19 rebounds in 2k14 on PS4, then played a 7'2 center and the jumping animation was broken for 7 footers so point guards would actually get rebounds over me for whatever reason. But at least boxing out was important.

This year there really is no boxing out, so the opposing team will get offensive rebounds easily over the AI PF and C on my team. Teams get 3rd and 4th chances over Al Jefferson. I actually get about 5 or 6 rebounds a game as a 6'2 PG with zero added points in rebounding, and it's really easy to do. There just isn't any boxing out anymore.

I experienced everything you just said in 2K14 but so far I'm not seeing it in 2K15. It's actually refreshing when I pass to an open teammate and he takes the shot - and makes it! Sure my teammates will pass me the ball if I'm near the ballhandler but I figure it's because I'm the first scoring option since I'm playing as a SG.

Yeah they seem to run their system all with ratings that they set for that player. Of course it also depends on the difficulty youre playing on too. Only problem ive run into is 90% of my steals going out of bounds until I got the badge for it. When teammates are open they usually make the shot for me. I play a drive and pass playstyle with my gaurd so usually I get 10+ assists, and 20+ points. Idk all I can say is keep working for the pass badge which i think improves your teammates shots.

Im so frustrated!!!! Im on the hawks 71 rating PG.

Im noticing the exact same issues. Players are 2 feet from the goal and they take the ugliest shots ever. Like every easy look i set up for my team becomes the ugliest shot in the game. Right now on the hawks i struggle to get my team to run with me on breaks, and cut to the basket. I call plays for someone to get open, and they just stand there no movement or slashing around the court. Ive been playing on HOF since the first game and im about to lower it to superstar or pro. I feel like HOF makes the game artificially harder by making your team suck balls.

80% of the wide open shots i set up for an assist is a miss! Why!? Its rare you see NBA players blow so many wide open shots. Ive found myself heaving the ball up court to a player on the break only for him to pass it back to me behind half court for the back court violation. This has happened so many times i dont even bother trying to push the fast break anymore.

Little stuff like horford bringing the ball down after catching it up high makes me want to break my controller. All he has to do is simply catch the ball and lay it up in the basket. He does this after rebounds, and catching a pass in the post.

I feel like the team is working against me, and not working with me. No one can create a good shot off the dribble, the lean on me for everything, if i dont feed them the ball with no defenders they just bug out and do something stupid.

Players will start to go through plays and leave their position too fast leading to turn overs and broken transitions.

HOF = CPU on the other team hits all their shots, creates off the dribble, while your team simply looks for you to score all the points. Im dropping 20+ points 8+ assists for 10+ games now. Only won 2 of them. Every loss is a 20+ blow out. With the best players on my team shooting below 40%.

Funny thing is when i sim games we always win. Why the hell cant we win when in out there busting my azz.

Dont even want to rant about the crazy glitches that let the already winning CPU get away with traveling, and all sorts of illegal actions on court.

Just finished another game, went 17 points, 24 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal and 2 turnovers. In 26 minutes. And I am a 70 overall with a 70 in Off and Def Rebounding. On Hall of Fame. The game seems easier compared to when I was playing a Center in 2K14. Playing a guard on the other hand I find harder because I am not used to the controls on the defenseive end. I am missing the training camp.
