Are the servers down for good?

Hello all, I played 2k15 this morning and when i came back now to play again tonight i cannot connect to the servers. Anyone having the same issue out there?

This is ridiculous! I also have the same problem and d##n the server, i hope the fix it cause I still have to play finals at my career.

It's down for me, as well. I found conflicting information online.

A moderator on the 2K forums says they're permanently down as of the new year: https://forums.2k.com/showthread.php?4301116-NBA2K15-server-to-shut-down-on-December-31-2016

But, the server status page on the 2K website says it's still online and functional: https://www.2k.com/serverstatus and https://www.nba2k.com/status

Kind of confusing. I've logged an inquiry with 2K - waiting for an email reply. I'll update with their response.

UPDATE:
Received response from 2K. Here it is:
"Thank you for contacting 2K Support.

I understand that you had some concerns regarding accessing online features and content in NBA 2K15. I can completely understand why as it’s still one of my favorite games.

With the previously-announced server shutdown in NBA 2K15 (which is also mentioned in the game manual), any mode that earns or uses VC will be affected, as will any other online function (such as MyTEAM mode and online matches against other players). However, you can still play offline quick games, MyGM mode and MyCAREER mode offline.

I would like to let you know, if you created an online MyCAREER or MyGM save file, the server shutdown means that this file will no longer be considered online, but it will be possible to convert into an offline file and continue playing.

We realize this may come as an inconvenience, and we apologize if that is the case.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us in the future if you have any further questions regarding any of our 2K titles.

Thanks for the update. No more 2k sports games for me, it was fun while it lasted gentlemen.
