Losing a day because there is a last coal somewhere underneath all the ore lying around is 100% unnecessary frustration.
I would also settle for an option: "Always prioritize coal for transportation (unless cap needed already met)".
Yes, PLEASE do something to fix this issue.
This ^, but it could be built into the game. Making carriers prioritise coal, then technology, then swarmlit, then iron, then if they have nothing to do picking up the upgrade resources (Or some order like this).
Good idea. I would make the order coal, iron, swarmlit, then tech. Usually that's what I value when I manually prioritize ore. The first three help you survive and complete the mission, while the tech is just a bonus (and completing the mission produces a lot of tech in itself).
But sometimes having the carriers take the closest thing first is also good, so hmm...
Perhaps a compromise could be having buttons off to the side that lets us focus on specific types, like coal, iron, tech, like a filter..and whenever those are toggled on, those types of ores get highlit and show up in front of all other ores, as well as squares yet to be dug out being highlit. That way it addresses the "can't find coal"-issue, while also offering the flexibility to find whatever you need.
Sometimes I just very badly need another 2 swarmlit to build another turret to hopefully survive the night..
If they update it so that coal doesn't get hidden behind other materials, I think that's good enough.
