Open thread for platform/tileset ideas:
Here are some ideas for platforms/tilesets i have:

Platform: The Mechanist

The main idea here was a more tactical approach to the reactionary one of the default platform.

Replaces the Barracks and the Miner/Carrier/Guard recruitment with:
Drone Forge building that can each have 5 Drones out at the same time and autaumatically replaces lost drones up to the maximum.
Drones work as a somewhat worse version of the normal workers with special mechanics:

When a drone transports materials back to the platform it is slowed even more than a carrier, but by "mining" an empty tile drones can be ordered to build a conveyor belt at the target location.
If a chain of conveyors back to the platform exists the drone will drop ore off there instead. From there on the conveyors move it. (I would make conveyours be unaffected by worms)

The idea for this is a balance between having conveyor lines in the undergound without wasting time by filling every tile.

As an aditional mechanic a drone can be sacrificed ontop of a conveyor tile to add either:
a radar ( reveal 5 block radious)
a turret for defense.
a block weakener (either directed or aoe)
This would mean a trade-off between speed and safety as lost drones need to be rebuilt first.

Alternatively the defense could be managed by drones "self-destructing" into underground targets.
This would have a similar effect of slowing down the player if they miss a threat.

I did imagine the drones beeing replaced for free to give them a "disposable" feeling.
To keep a meaningfull challange during night mining/ loosing large quantities of drones quickly my suggestion would be:
The longer the drone forge runs without a break the slower it gets.

Platform: The Game Hunter

The main idea here was to reward a stronger focus on the nighttime defense.

The platforms core comes equipped with a "investor controlled gun".
This gun can be used like all other nighttime activated abilities. (on a cooldown or at a resource cost)
The gun shoots a laser that deals more damage the less remaining health an enemy has.
Each nighttime wave has 1-3 Marked enemies.

If a marked enemy is destroyed with the core laser the player receives additional resources/workes/buffs or something similar.
Eg: Rich investors paying to play big game hunter during a mining operation.

Tileset: Ship Scrapyard

The Platform is placed ontop of a planet sized scrapyard, trying to drill trough dereclicts.
The main idea is to find tools with limited battery lifetime while minging with the possible difficulty of finding fewer natural resources.

Noteworthy tiles:
- Old ship core: mine to trigger delayed detonation clearing 1-4 tiles in each cardinal direction
- Malfunctioning defense drone: Like frozen enemies on the ice planet it can activate and attack miners if left alone for to long. But if released and carried to the core it can be reprogrammed to work as an additional guard.
This would still include a limited battery lifetime for 2-3 day/night cycles so they can not be stacked infinitely.
- Ship armory: breaking grants a cost free gun that that can be placed on any wall mount. The guns also have a battery lifetime with additional effects:
Above 66% +x firerate/damage
Above 33% normal stats
Below 33% -x firerate/damage
This would allow quick miners to regularly replace their guns to keep the bonus without punishing larger setbacks by loosing guns too quickly.
