Go run nglide_config.exe in the game folder and pick your resolution. Supports 1080p just fine and scales and everything. You just have to set it.

i am having problems with this, im running nglide_config.exe and getting the options to change the resolution's and it is making a slight difference but im still getting two large black bands at either side of the screen. Any suggestions?

managed to solve it. i was being a spanner and didnt tick the little box that said "fit to screen"

How to change the FOV to have a correct widescreen image? You only have either a totally strechted awfully looking full screen without correct aspect ratio or you have 4:3 screen and black bars on the edge. There actually is a YouTube-Video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tj0oGYci9pw) where some guy seems to have a increased FOV but doesn't reply to the question how the ♥♥♥♥ he managed to set it...
