how can i install the cd-rom version in windows 7

i got the cd-rom version some time ago and it is the only version i have. i do not have enough money in my steam wallet to buy it again and i have already used up my budget for this month. how do i install the version i have in windows 7?

no longer present i believe. could be that i got it in game in norway and that no longer exists. please help me out.

Sounds funny - go to the shop where you bought game 15 years ago :)
I don't think they will help even if the game is bought few days ago... :)

Don't know if installer working, but if not I guess you can copy it to HD, best to short path like C:\Carma2\ then apply GOG patch[rr2000.toshiba-3.com] and install nGlide[www.zeus-software.com], I think it should work. If this stuck try to rename winmm.dll (it disable music).

only the software executable works(hardware executable goes straight into appcrash) and the colors are all messed up.

When nGlide is installed you should have possibility to switch to "3DFX (Glide)" or "Direct 3D" - just run the carma2.exe and try both options. If 3DFX option is grayed out this mean nGlide is not installed.

i tried direct 3d and the game went straight into appcrash. there is no difference between 3dfx and direct 3d in this game.

For 3DFX you can setup more options (like bigger resolution) using nGlide config. Look on GOG forum[www.gog.com] for details. The switch to nGlide is recommended.

nglide have no config as it is made to be as close as possible to the original glide.

nGlide have config - in my system it is located in C:\WINDOWS\system32\nglide_config.exe

We can access it also from Start menu->nGlide->nGlide Configurator

BTW: for GOG/Steam C2 and Max Pack nGlide (outdated) is shipped with game, so config is located in game or DOSBox directory. It can be updated be replacing the files (I have described how to update nGlide somewhere on Steam forum).

the developers specifically stated that there will never be a config. updating nglide however is something i could do for carmageddon max pack but the problem with carmageddon 2 is a different story.

direct 3d works perfectly but something about the file causes appcrash. 3dfx uses the same executable and as such it would just go straight to appcrash again.

i got it working by using the new executables with the original files from the cd. perhaps the patch contains a broken file somewhere. i did not get any sound however, what could be causing that?
