I bought this game via steam.I did have the CD from years ago when I played it on windows 98.
Whne I try to play it via the 3DFx choice it asks me to insert the disk, which it shouldn't do.
When I choose the other option,it works but not with the 3Dfx patch.
And Vik,I suggest you rid yourself of your pirated movie library...you naughty boy.:)
Then try the 3DFX mode again.
The executable called by the second choice is cracked while the first isn't.
In gog release (which I believe equal to steam one) some execs are cr*cked, when other are redirected to use different file instead of PATHS.TXT which is set up to read files from fake CD located in DATA\ROOT\ directory. So when game can't find CD it means the paths are set wrong. This may also happened when exec which is set up to work with DOSBox is started directly from Windows (for DOSBox paths are set from root of the drive). PATHS.TXT and equivalents are encrypted by game engine on first game start, to prevent that we may add first line as follow:
So piss on you, it happens to people who aren't pirating.
Cheers!
