Yeah, the Plantoid and Fungoid shipsets look terrible in comparison with all all other shipsets. Including the upcoming bioships.
All that looks cool but... it is balanced?
I think so. it can only pass a 200 month wait into a 100 month wait. 50 month wait if you park them at a full vivarium starbase. It still need time to grow. a lot more than bioship from what i've seen.
for exemple a tiyanki ox take 80 years to be at this stage.
with the nurture mechanic i'm talking about, you still need 80 years to have your first ox (or a little less if you put it at a vivarium starbase) and after that you will need to wait between 40 years (with a +1 growth) and 26 years (with a +2 growth) to have other tyanki ox, which is still long.
MEAT SHIPS
MEAT SHIPS
And the meat ships remind me a lot about that game in terms of the whole evolutionary path and such.
Man, I remember of that game (Genesis Rising)... All its potential was wated due to bad writing and bad gameplay.
Techno-organic ships that evolve and adapt to the battlefield's demands is just plain untapped potential.
And at least with this incoming expansion we're getting some of it.
I agree 100%.
