Took over Robot Empire, can not set AI policy
Premise: Took over AI Empire in early game. They were a threat to be contained, so better when their fleet suicided into mine during first contact than later.
As the AI had no fleet remaining, the war was short and easy. I lost like one ship and one army.

As their worlds are full of Individualist Robots, who are, apparently, set to only be allowed to be workers, I tried to set the Species rights to full Citizenship.
Except that the tool-tip tells me I can not. I need to set AI policy differently.
Except that I can not. There is no AI policy beyond AI workers allowed.


So, it appears that taking over a species of individual Machines does not give one the option to set AI policy. Which seems... inane.
So I guess I am stuck with populace who are unable to do advanced jobs because my main empire is too ignorant to comprehend the concept of sentient AI despite having worlds full of them. Unfortunate.

PS: The reason i want them to have Full Citizenship instead of servitude is because their Habitability preferences are different, so I would prefer not having to do the ruler and specialist jobs with my main species on a planet that has 20% Habitability.

Conquer someone else with required habitability or gene mod your main species.

Gameplay wise - robots lose their sentience when conquered by an empire that hasn't researched robot sentience.
You'll have to research droid technology before they can take specialist jobs.

I did not have the tech for AI, the gene modding is a long way away at that point, but thanks for the recommendation. :b
