Do planet and sector governor buff stack?

Hi,
i just started one of my first serious solo game (i just bought all expansion, thanks for the raise boss) and i just saw that i can put an official in the sector governor position and another one as governor of other planet in the sector.
My question is: do bonuses stack?
And do they stack for similar trait? I currently have the possibility of hiring two official with the homesteader trait.

No the sector one applies if there is no governor but if there is a governor it overrides the sector buffs. So you either get the half power sector buff or the full power governor buff but not both.

No worries use governors on your most important worlds like say an alloy ecumenopolis, a research world, unity world etc for the maximum bonuses and use the sector position to give the smaller buffs to a large group of less important planets.
