Rogue Servitor Ring World and Virtualilty
This is one funny combination.

The first big step is having a Dyson Swarm inside the ring. Because this star has triple output, this makes for one fat Dyson Swarm.

Ring world segments get 3 more segments with ascension tiers. They end up size 13. I forgot to write down the breakpoints, you get the 3rd one at tier X.

You need only crisis level 1 for Empyrean Domes ( houses 50 bio pops ) and sentinel buildings. This type of civ has no use of the buildings in crisis levels 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Top as many Empyrean Domes as you can fit.
You need 2 upgraded sentinel posts to keep 700 pops per ring segment in check.
Depending on your luck with gas you may need a refinery on every ring segment.

The Lathe counts as a planet, but doesn't contribute except for bad standing.
If you insist on having 4 planets then get one devoted to gas.
This civ got enough researching power to get crisis level 5 through harmful research.

And you will be well on your way to 100k research a month.

Having never played Rogue Servitor, how do you sustain the pop growth to feed the lathe?

Why would you use your own population for that? Buy slaves from the galactic market or/and conquer your neighbor and throw them into it before abandoning their planets. Everyone is going to hate you anyway since the pops being consumed by the Lathe counts as genocide.

The blunt science output of this empire is enough to ignore the lathe.
While other empires can build the lathe and decide to not use it, Virtuality takes a penalty for having this empty artificial planet.

Playing this right now and it was a bit of a slow start then exploded in the mid game. I put everything into vassalising a nearby bio hive by year 20, which is now a huge Prospectorum. I haven't gone for Cosmogenesis, but got the Cybrex Ring World so I have 7 ring segments, Dyson Sphere, Matter Decompressor, and 2 Arc Furnaces. Absolutely crushing it now in ~2400.

Having done my first cosmo run as a virtual empire, i concur. so nice to conquer new systems and send the organics to the matrix
