Difficulty / Schwierigkeitsgrad Einstellungen
Hello all

My colleague and I are playing Stellaris in coop on Skipper difficulty. And we are really getting our asses kicked. We were able to hold our own against midgame crises, but as soon as we want to go on the offensive, we are usually overrun by the AI opponents. They always have twice, sometimes 3-5x as much firepower as our fleets.

When we changed the difficulty to cadet, we had far too many resources and could easily attack our AI neighbors. The AI also made gross blunders in fleet movement and maneuvered weak fleets into our strong ones.

How can we best regulate the difficulty?
We play on a huge 1000 star map with about 12 empires. Don't give the AIs any starting advantages, have the KO modifiers set to Off.
Should we enable scaled difficulty? Are there any other settings that will give us a more balanced game experience?

Wir spielen auf einer riesigen 1000 Sterne Map mit so 12 Reichen. Geben den KIs keine Startvorteile, haben die KO-Modifikatoren auf Aus gestellt.
Sollten wir die skallierte Schwierigkeit aktivieren? Gibt es sonst noch Einstellungen die uns ein ausgewogenere Spielerfahrung bieten?

So, assuming I got my Translations correct: Try the Ensign (Should be Fähnrich in German?) difficulty, it puts you and the AI on a level playing field, Skipper, at least going by its meaning is Captain Difficulty which gives the AI a 25% bonus to everything.

And the AI's been Upgraded quite a bit with updates and improvements so they put up quite a fight to newer players, 12 Empires is also a double-Edged sword, one Empire can grow far bigger than others and Vassalize them (Which the AI loves to do and also Accepts) and you end up against a Doomstack of AI Empires.

thanks for your answer. Yes we already played on the level where the ai doesnt get a bonus.

thats a good info about to much enemy ai player. we try it again with just a couple ai bots. thank you
