Why is the toxic name list 3 just straight up finnish?
just because paradox is swedish, you dont have to ♥♥♥♥ on your neighbor THAT hard :-D

I think it's just nice that I can have my Third Finnish Empire (which I play with in like >50% of my games) have Finnish names by default, instead of having to name everything one by one. They might've meant it as an insult, but I welcome it wholeheartedly.

Related, but would someone be kind enough to give some example names for the different categories for the Toxoid lists? Curious what they are, but I'm not ready to pick it up yet (playing several other things at the moment).

1rst names are chemistry related names. Planets are named after molecule (Hexanium), fleet are chemical processes/stuff (Oxydizer, covalent crystal), ships are atom name based (Invarium, Indrite), and people seem to be famous chemist/phycist names but modified (Bahr instead of Bohr, Gegir instead of Geiger), with a first name based on minerals (quartzel for quartz, arsene for arsenic....)
2nd are based on "toxic" theme, so "rotgut" for people, "fetid fleet", "putrid assassin" ship....
3rd is finnish
4th is expressions and puns ? Negative stuff. Kinda weird. (planet : "harsh reality", leader "aimless after all", ship "failure to declare").

i think they are based on the ironic names of ships, etc. from the culture series (its sci-fi books)

It's strange, and probably a weird dig at Finnish people, but it's also the name list I've used the most. The pun ones just sound like crap. The Finnish ones sound like realistic names (I guess because they are?), so they work well.

I almost choked my game snack due laughing so hard with the names. Totally did not see that coming while starting new game. Of course I used the list.

The name list isn't only Finnish, it also has a bit of Estonian and a bit of other similar languages and some of the words are a bit altered

I think It's just a bit of fun, similarly to how one of the Aquatoid namepacks is based on the english countryside. It's better than yet another namepack that's just a word-soup of consonants and plosives.

Yeah very funny, you are finnish, so you are a stinking toxic ball of slime? How does that go along with steam policies?

Writing such a context on the forum would likely get you an infraction or ban, depending on which moderator reads the complaint.

Some countries have a sort of "friendly rivalry". They ♥♥♥♥ on each other, but it's not serious.
