I guess it is meant to be used with a Virtuality Voidforged build from the same DLC.

Much faster if you only have 4 colonies... and they all have a gateway

You could always release a sector as a vassal, give said vassal all your non-homeworld systems, and then merely embark the Horizon Needle from your homeworld. You're abandoning the galaxy anyway, what does it matter what's left behind?
You're abandoning your people.

Gosh, imagen someone first conquers a max galaxy and then gets confronted with this.
Why would you conquer the whole galaxy when your entire species' goal is to jump into a black hole to hopefully end up in an entire new universe?

Why stop by conquering this galaxy ? Entering the Shroud or creating a new universe molded by you, sounds like the next step to me.

Tell that to my Necrophage Slaving Guild who uses a nerve-stapled invasive species to grow their numbers more swiftly, and manufactures robots with more rights to do the actual work. The only reason I want to bring anyone with me is to serve as elaborate out-of-body wombs for my own limited-freedom species - and if I'm going to a new universe to redesign the laws of reality from the metaphorical ground up, I don't even need them any longer.
