if there is a season 9 I will buy I love this game but I also hope that they will announce Stellaris 2. They made us happy by adding more and more content but we must also admit that they are a lost in all this content. For example, many other spyes, piracy (even if they have announced that they will rework these 2 points) which does not work as we could hope. Making a Stellaris 2 could also allow you to have a better optimized game for games in large maps without it slowing down (frame per second) at the end of the game.

They did.

They increased the price of the DLC double the price of what they used to be sold for.

Once again, videogames have been riding with the same exact price tag for the last three decades.
Super Mario Bros 3 was released in 1990 for $49.99, Doom released in 1993 for the same price, Final Fantasy III in 1994 hit the market for $79.99.
Adjusted purely on the basis of inflation, for 2024, those same pricetags would be $120.73, $109.20 and $170.38 respectively.

Unfortunately (or fortunately I don’t know), people aren’t really open to the possibility of L paying a game somewhere in the realm of 120 to 180 bucks and still demands its price tag to be less than half that.
And that is the exact reason why developers have come to add DLC to their game.

As for Stellaris in particular, prices have always been in line throughout the years.
The big exceptions have been First Contact, Cosmic Storms and Machine Age, priced at a whopping 5 bucks more than usual.
What’s fun is that when you look just at inflation - and thus ignore the very real price increases that we’ve seen on everything in recent years, from electric bills to equipment, to insurance etc etc - we can clearly see that 10 dollars in 2016 had the same purchase power of 13.10 dollars in 2024.
Now, what that means is that out of the 5 additional bucks they asked for First Contact and Cosmic Storms, 3.10 have been entirely absorbed by inflation alone.
And the 5 additional bucks they asked for Machine Age do not even cover the added inflation cost, which means we are actually paying that DLC less than we’d have paid had it come out in 2016 (in terms of real purchase power).

So no, not only did they not double the price of DLC, they actually reduced it for the most expensive DLC, which should be priced even higher than that.

And, as always it is up to you to check if a videogame or a DLC is up your alley and to decide whether the price tag is ok with you or not (and in 2025 you have every tool possible to make that decision), or if you’d rather wait for a discount - which are very frequent right here on steam - before buying it.

... and using generative AI to produce content instead of paying people to make content.

And just as it has been amply debated before, this claim has been utterly and completely debunked.

But please, do not let fact and reason stand in the way of your feigned outrage at a business wanting to make money out of their product.
I’m sure you’re refusing the money people give you when you do your job, since everyone should just work for the pleasure of doing a favour to those like you

The fact remains that old DLC have doubled in price, new DLC aligned with an overpriced point and content for the game generated on the fly by AI.

Denying that is just been complicit with Paradox awful practice to overcharge people for nothing.

Doubled in price since how many years ago?
And what's the inflation calculation since that year?
Honestly curious.

aspec said stellaris will hit a 4.0 phoenix around may. its going to overhaul and change how populations work, and they are just replacing the entire system. FUN FREAKIN TIMES, i mean its great they are still supporting it but gees. That plus more DLC..i bet this game is past 300 bucks now, with everything.

Now we gotta learn it all over again and hope for less end game lag monsters.
