Dyson Swarms
Is it better to build them around high energy producing stars, or stars with higher science deposits?

You get multiple swarms, so feel free to stack some science, or minor artifacts, or astral threads. If the opportunity arises, go for it.

I prefer high energy stars, or special stars that provide another resource. Storms can leave a star with +5 Alloys. I beeline those my Swarms.
I always prefer energy. Usually I'm building arc furnaces at the same time and each dyson swarm will support an arc furnace.

Physics research is already way more plentiful than the other types (not that more of it ever hurts) and I like to minimize the amount of worker jobs i have in my empire.

I do like to grab the star from the crystal rift event for the astral threads to pay for the job output edict though.

i rank energy producing stars as worst, maybe except if they produce 8+ energy
better choose advanced resources or research/rare resource if available
like tiyanki systems, irrc each has a star producing 6 research, some after storm event stars, or affected by anomalies, unique star from Knights of the Toxic God origin and one of my favourites - minor artefact star after message in bottle digsite
in total - energy is very easily produced resource
bio-pops produce 8 base with upgraded building, robo-pops produce 10
while researchers produce 9 research points(3x3), and there are much less +% bonuses for researchers than for workers
so, if you have to choose between same amount of energy and research - better pick research
