Confused about orbital habitat...
I am using 3.9.1 and just started a game a few hours ago using the Toxic God origin (so I start with an orbital habitat). It got filled up so when I expand, I have the option to build a Major Orbital and a Minor Orbital. The descriptions aren't very detailed. So, I built the Major orbital and now, it is a vehicle? It has the option to Patrol? I don't see any change in the main orbital habitat to indicate more capacity, etc. I am going to keep playing with it and see what happens but does anyone have anything to offer? Maybe something about the new habitat system breaks with the toxic god starting with one?

hover over the build choice. it tells you. if there is a rescouce it will open 3 potential districts of that type. they also increase districts size and building slots by a fraction.

orbitals at the start only give .5 of a district (major) or building (minor) slot
when you upgrade your main habitat, it buffs orbitals with +.25 slots per upgrade (so up from .5 up to 1 full district/building slot)

you probably have something like half a district slot which means you get nothing until you build another major orbital or if you upgrade your habitat

Ok. After playing for a bit, I was able to build the Central Habitat Hub first in another system and then, built some major and minor additions and it DID expand a few more districts.
I will try building some more in the home system to see if that one expands.

Will there still be a second habitat expansion technology that gives the decision to expand the habitat or has that been replaced with only the major and minor orbital expansions?

Ok. It seems like you saying I will still eventually get the second tech for the decision upgrade of the main habitat.

Void Dwellers start with access to Level 2 Habitats, but have to research it. If you researched Habitats independently as a terrestrial faction, then once you research Habitats, you should start seeing Level 2 habitat research pop up, and then after that Level 3 Habitats. That's the max.

I didn't get the technology research choice to upgrade the main habitat until after I chose the Void Dweller Ascension Perk.
