Gestalt is broken
Hive and machine have trade but no trade buildings to help so am at -500 for trade and cant fix it

you can actually get trade from the coordinator drones iirc (the ones you get from building city districts).
but yeah, for now, gestalt trade is really hiffy
yea its not enough to sustain a large sized empire thou once you hit the cap unless you make 5-6 planet just do trade you are ♥♥♥♥♥♥

Could try to not generate deficits on your planets so they don’t cost trade.
the only deficits im seeing is from fleets

Yeah, trade and amenities are kinda broken for machine/gestalt empires right now.

Regular Organics get Luxury Residences for +3000 housing and +2500 amenities.
Machines get Drone Storage for +400 housing and +300 amenities (I think they just missed an ending zero there).

Your pops eat up amenities like crazy. While the organics have Holo-Theatres to compensate, the machines get nothing.

Right now, as a machine empire, you immediately run into a softcap on your pops (even on your starting world) because of this. No way to keep up the amenities.

Later in the game, you will also run into problems generating enough trade.

tl;dr: Machines/Gestalt broken. Wait for fix.

Otherwise, I really like the changes in the patch.
This just screwed up my genocidal hive run. Ridiculous to need this resource for deficits and fleets but lack ways to generate much of it.
The moment hive hit 6+ planets i was screwed or having 90k fleet power

Machines still have maintenance drones - but the game doesnt fricking tell you how many amenities they actually produce

800 maintenance drones produced around 1600 amenities - on the right the game tells me they produce "400" (which is a lie) and on the left it tells me they produce "50" (50 what? per 100 pop??????)

From what i can see you have endless maintenance drone jobs, no?

Edit: Yes its endless - if you disable all jobs they all become maintenance drones after 2-3 months

The only problem is this disgusting UI that doesnt tell you anything... The less maintenance drones you have, the higher this number is and vice versa...

Seems to be roughly +3 amenities per maintenance drone if anyone is interested...

Hmmm, so idle drones might just do maintainance... so overbuilding will kill your amenities. I need to do more testing. Thank you for the heads-up!

Basically, yes. Alternative is disabling more jobs to match amenities which is more micro intensive than it used to be... You have to scroll more now compared to before...

Logistic drones seem to be +2 amenities per drone...? Again, cant tell for sure because of this disgusting UI

From what I've been reading, over-expansion or over-building can bottleneck you way worse than in the past. I'd guess that genocidals -- which I think need to snowball/expane early -- weren't fully tested.
