Elaborate?
They seem to work just fine for me, so what issue are you having?
Shovey May 5 @ 4:37pm
I started a new game as Gestalt. On every single planet amenities drop to 0 for some reason. Pops just refuse to get menial jobs. Even If I build nothing on the planet it still goes 0 amenities. The only way around it seems to be to favorite the amenities job manually but even that just means that it will take time for pops to slowly build up.

I have 7 planets and every single one of them has amenities in the negative because they got 0 pops doing the job
turn off colonists. they hoover up any pop you don't force to do something else

They work fine for me. Very different from before, but fine. Luxury apartments are honestly great this time, which is weird.
Is it Robot pops? Issue is "Maintenance drones" only exist with excess population. So if you have colonies that no 'excess' population. You have no maintenance drones. Which apart from housing departments( And that's hardly enough) are the only thing that produce amenities.

I like this. But the issue is you have no way or pioritizing or assigning Maintenance drones, and your pops IMMEDIATELY fill up menial or complex jobs first before ever becoming maintenance drones. So a single big rush of upgrades will cripple a colony and there is no real way to fix it.
The gestalt and hive factions are broken with this update they dont have amenites per district buildings like other factions
I was just playing hive and had plenty of amenities ....

here is the problem, if you are actually building jobs for your drones then you will have no maintenance drones, you NEED to let your drones go unemployed and downgrade into maintenance drones its the only other way to get amenities other than hive warren and leaders. thanks paradox now i have to waste all of my building slots on my high pop planets for hive warrens and now i gota sit there staring at the unemployed pops icon on my planets. pops are the most important thing in your empire and now your empire sucks really bad because you gota waste so many for the worst resource in the game, amenities. not to mention all the other amazing buildings you could have on your high pop planets except you want to not have -4k amenities so you spam warrens

edit: b4 anyone spergs out saying their hive was fine, forest dont count they basicly dont use amenities

Which factions get "amenities per district" buildings? I have not tried everything yet, but from what I have seen there is no such thing. You get buildings that give a fixed amount of amenities (or a fixed amount of jobs that produce amenities), or you let the population outgrow available jobs to get civilians/maintenance drones.
Seems to me like its the same for everyone.

Gestalt empires. So both machine empires (not individulistic machines) and hive minds.

This is very bad because expansion is very hard as it will have a lot of your available work force that is in amenities migrate because they are the equivalent of an unemployed strata job and this leaves you with a deficit in those planets.

Of course there are some work arounds like manually lowering the jobs on higher strata to forcefully demote the drones and get amenities again. With hive minds if they are the right phenotype you have the rooted trait that makes it so they never migrate on their own which solves that problem without a need to manually changing the work force but it means you need to migrate manually all the time once a planet cannot realistically grow anymore (when it has all the districts and slots filled and all workforce necessary for those jobs filled.

Maybe read again what I quoted:

Your answer does not make sense.
He said they don't have them, and suggested others do.

And could you tell me which buildings you are talking about specifically? Because I still have not seen any building that gives amenities per district.

Anyways, I just checked in game if there was a way to get amenities per district, which gestalt empires do not get.
And yes there is a way, but hive minds can do it too. Machines apparently not, so maybe that is what Archaon was trying to say.

As non gestalt, you can choose the mercantile tradition, then you can get +200 amenities per 100 traders, and build a commercial nexus to get traders per city district, which essentially give you amenities per district.

Hives don't get mercantile but instead they get synchronicity, and with that you can get 2 amenities per synapse drone. Which comes out to basically the same, only that you build administrative hubs to get synapse drone jobs per district.
Machines get evaluators reduce deviancy by 3 instead.

Yeah amenities are scuffed as a gestalt, it's really funny. TL;DR to get around this as a machine, spam as many of the drone hubs as you can afford on your main city hub. This is not enough. My standard build is 1 pop assembly building and 4 drone hubs right now, and even with this, I'm running a deficit on amenities if I expand my economy too quickly. I'm not even mad, I just think this is a hilarious oversight. Do note, taking primitives over early does solve energy issues inherent with early game now, but they will likely try to rebel eventually. Recommend transferring enough pops there to not have them rebel. Also, the luxury housing is literally better than having your pops work the entertainment buildings as a non-gestalt. Pretty sure that is not WAD. Machines are still broken as usual cause pop gain and city building is consistently huge no matter what after a certain point because assembly, but it is definitely a scaling build. I have no idea how hives work, haven't tried yet. Also machine gestalts don't auto resettle.

I do like that this update has forced me to use the resettle button the most I've ever had to in the entire game. Also do note, my build was probably at least somewhat meta for rapid machine empire expansion, with the pop assembly trait and civic and the cheaper building civic, along with the machine world origin, and as such, I consequently had an easier time with economics.
Yeah, no idea how to get ameneties as a gestalt right now.
Apart from the spawning pool, no job seems to produce em. So all my colonies hate life.
You know whats funny?

Compare all the housing buildings for each empire type.

Luxury housing gives 2500 amenities and 3000 housing. The upgrade, Paradise Dome gives 5000 amenities and 6000 housing.

What does my Hive warren or my Drone storage give me?

500 amenities + 300 housing and 300 amenities + 400 housing respectively.

The upgraded versions give 1000 amenities + 600 housing and 600 amenities +800 housing respectively.....

You can just see someone either forgot to add a 0 somewhere or added an extra 0 somewhere. No wonder Bio empires have it so easy with Amenities right now!

If my Robots had a Luxury housing equivalent, amenities would not be a problem.
