major and minor orbital 4.0

do any of you know how to build these in 4.0? i can see when you start as void dweller there are some already built but when you build anouther habitation in a different system you cant build any orbitals anywhere?

they are built automatically just colonize the habitat

I think they are tied to the districts now somehow (as in, as you build districts it automatically builds the required orbitals).

if we do not build the orbitals do no deposit worlds still give district and building slots?
and can we no longer preview the total number BEFORE we build the complex?

which is broken because if it builds orbitals around planets you cannot put colony rings on them and if it puts orbitals around the sun you can't drop a dyson on it.

I was confused by this at first too, but then I looked up the wiki. It has been updated with the changes. You don't need to build major and minor orbitals any more. Instead, the orbitals are built automatically as you build districts in the habitat. The total number of districts is equal to 0.25 per star or planet (not moon or asteroid) in system for each tier of habitat admin building. Void dwellers origin or void born perk adds 0.25 per asteroid or moon (not sure if this is per tier or just a flat bonus). Resource districts are available based on the resources deposits, with each deposit giving 1+ half it's value in districts.

Overall, this is a bit of a Nerf to the number of resource district that you can get from the guaranteed resource system, but a general increase in the number of district you will get overall. Plus it states that orbitals now have identical effects and upkeep to the mining stations they replace, so I think you still get the base resources from the deposit.

You can't build a Dyson swarm if an orbital has already been built, but I don't know what happens if you build a Dyson swarm first.

ohh see i was having an issue where i put the habitat over the sun, lost the mining station there was an orbital there but wasn't getting the energy, it was just white(like before you build a mining station)
i had a similar issue where i built a dyson swarm over a star and wasnt getting the 64 energy
