Can you confirm you are (a) running 4.0.2 (b) not running any mods and report back? Any additional information you can share, I will pass on to the teams.
Playing on 4.0.2, no Mods installed (and never have had any installed so not leftovers causing trouble). Its crashing either before the game even loads to the Menu, or as it begins loading after launching a new game.
if you can bear with me and try each of these in our standard "crash while loading" troubleshooting and report back? I'm checking with our team in the meantime.
1. Disable all mods already confirmed
2. Verify Local Files (Steam) - Right Click Stellaris, Right Click Properties, Go to Local Files and click "Verify Integrity of Game Files"
3. In the launcher, go to Settings, and change your Video Settings to Borderless Fullscreen or Windowed mode
4. (In Windows) Go to Settings, Add/Remove Programs, and Uninstall Paradox Launcher v2. After relaunching the game, let the launcher download updates, and restart the game again.
The same problem I have with Vicky 3, launcher does not work but .exe does, I did not test if the Game would crash ingame, only confirmed it worked until the mainmenu.
