Its fun to know not every playthrough is the same
My empire spawned on the galaxy rim so I decided to turtle there until the end game crisis. however while i was in a war with a homicidal neighbor the scourge decided spawn right next to my empire capital, and directly opposite a wormhole to a fallen empire. 3 years later they are wiped out. my capital was over run twice before their complete destruction but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ was that a very fun time. its a lot of blabbering but I would like to hear some other experiences after that.

I could never make it to the actual endgame crisis becoming an actual threat, best that happens is they show up and that's it. A combination of IRL priorities, wanting to take a break from this game, and a major update releasing requiring me to start a new game often prevent me from engaging with the Crisis.

But my friend once had the War in Heaven event happen in one of his games. It literally fizzled away within 10 in-game years, he was pretty disappointed about it.
I had one game where one of the AI's took the "become the crisis" perk. They managed to trigger one fallen empire into becoming a guardian of the galaxy awakened empire. Then a war in heaven happened, causing three awakened empires to be in the galaxy. Then a contingency crisis happened. That was a fun game.
i just gave up a game where a devouring swarm of fungus that i personally created devoured 3/4 of the galaxy even the remnant declared war on them at some point but it was to late they just eat everything, at last resort i opened the L gate to try use the nanite against them but somehow they where only angry at me because i refused to trust there lie, so in the end galactic community that i didnt join because i hate xeno scum was also destroyed when they declared the devouring fungus a crisis, and now there is only me the nanite and the fungus and they all want to destroy me :mortis:
