Stopped at 3.7. Are fleets still runned by empty boxes instead of admirals?
I was thinking about getting back to the game, but I hated that change to Leaders (not that I don't like the new system in its entirety, but I hate not knowing the name of the admirals leading most fleets (and govs leading planets, and so on).

How are things in this regard as of now? Any changes in sight? Any good mods still being updated to help dealing with this?

Small changes have been made since the revamp of the leader system, but there are still soft leader caps.

So you likely still won't have known commanders on all of your fleets nor known leaders governing every world (Every class now governs a world for different effects, there are no governing specialized leader type).

The governor of the sector capital, gives hes bonus for half its effects for the whole sector.
And you can have more leaders then the cap say, but there are negatives to over over the limite.

They made the leader system more forgiving with the second leader rework in 3.9 but there is still a soft cap that you can go over.

The main downside of the current system is that leaders can both govern or do their main occupation which means your best admiral who's meant to command fleets can randomly get traits to make him a better governor.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Kind of sucks, I'll wait a bit more, a lot of games to play instead (sure, I know there are mods to deal with this, but if they are anything like the 3.8 mods, they usually kind of break the game, since it's supposedly balanced around you not having that many leaders).

i remember the old (and funny) bug when my admiral had a mortality rate of 200% and commanded 3 fleets at the same time with an age of 219
