Yeah, that's the error you were up to, had you been remotely *correct*, it'd work *regardless* of if the beta version even existed to roll back to.

modders say no real update till the new beta is out and done
You mean they told you the same thing that you were already told in the other thread and things worked out exactly as people had explained? No way!

Yeah, the mod makers are liars if this's what is going on- as they said it was the exact same, but it clearly doesn't work, and there's no rollback.
It worked in OPs case.
If you can replicate the situation for a specific mod crashing with the new update (even in the situation that it would be unlikely considering the scope of the update) then let the author know so he can check.

Use beta code "oldstellaris" to unlock older versions.
That's for viewing versions older than around 2.2 or so, but the version in question is from before yesterday.

Quick tip before this thread goes the usual route: Don't waste your time on jamcarmody, all they do is try to get people to argue with them. There's a good chance they're just lying and don't have a problem to begin with.

Yeah, that's a falsehood; and no, the game's a totally different version than the regular one it *should* be... the game modification via the update is totally different- had it not been: games previously could be played easily.

A whopping 330 Bytes of existing files changed.
I made a similar thread. Apparently they just added a 5 on the end of the numbers to prepare for 4.0. Everything seems to work as it did.

I was looking for a page like that! Thanks!
So, why in the world were they constantly adding on new numbers to the file? I mean it, usually, nay almost *universally*, when they make an editing of the game: it is only two decimal points and then a whole new rendition, not endlessly adding on new decimal points; what's up with that?
Thing is: it doesn't work in any games at all, no, this's not just "total conversions" this's *all* games, period!
For the 3.14 versions, it was just a joke. Instead of incrementally changing the sub-version number (3.14.X) they were appending digits of Pi.
For every other version it was the usual method of increasing by 1 the sub or minor version numbers each update.

Also, I can continue my game with 70 mods with no issues so....

Yeah, the game itself doesn't match up at all with things before the newest update. And no, this's not about any sort of conversion mod at all- the update itself is the problem.
they screwed up the roll back somehow
but i just went with latest and the few mods i use star wars new dawn being one worked
i spent a day trying to figure this till i just say heck with it

then complain to the mod authors about it, because they're the ones who are going to have to fix it

and try to be truthful to them for once, because if you make ♥♥♥♥ up like usual it's not going to help them fix it
