Open beta has way better performance. I just had a high pop growth rate setting with max empires in 1000 star galaxy and while the speed did drop a little by 2400 it still fast. Previously I needed slow pop growth with 400 star galaxy and the game would be unplayable by 2400. So it's not just better, is WAY better. even if fleet logistics does lower performance it should be better than before.
Was around or close to mid game, happened in about 5 games, the tech comment was to make the point NO ONE in the galaxy had a chance.
There's usually a few things like that, but they tend to resolve themselves as you keep playing. I can't be more specific because I've got no concrete examples to work from.
Frequent elections are entirely probable if your leaders keep dying, though it shouldn't be that quickly and especially not if you chose to disable the notifications. I'd file a bug report on the official Paradox forums about that so the developers can look into it.
Endgame crises do not appear before the endgame unless one extremely singular event occurs: the Ultima Vigilis archaeology site excavated and not converted to a Sentry Array, and even then it's a 50% chance. There are no other ways to trigger early endgame crises.
Now, the Great Khan can indeed appear super-early if a marauder empire spawns next to a Fallen Empire. The Fallen Empire will send out its fleets to kill the marauders, and there's a 2% chance that the Great Khan will appear if one of the Void Dwellings is destroyed. Not a bug.
Well, without more specific information, I can't give more specific answers.
I mean... mid game crisis happening around or close to mid game is literally when it should happen. If nobody else has coilguns by 2300 then I dunno wtf is going on in your galaxy.
