Storm DLC sucks
Damn. An entire DLC dedicated to debuffs and pure annoyance huh? Worst DLC ever!

I wouldnt say its the worst. A DLC adding more challenge runs is definitely a good addition to those seeking a challenge. I still desire them to add more creative challenge dedicated origins and thats coming from a casual player like myself. So for Storm dlc its more of i dont like the idea of what they went with "Storm chasers". Knock off of the american TV series storm chasers. Its uncreative and uninspiring even for a paradox dlc. It more of seems like a mod quality level addition than an actual DLC.

I like it.

I think it contributes to the galaxy feeling a little more dynamic and alive.
So basically the plague dlc/update in ck2/3? xD

Literally every single DLC, even across the entire gaming industry, is hated, especially so if it adds any layer of "difficulty" or similar dynamic, such as CK3 introducing plagues.

People want to be baby-fed a giant, customizable: "YOU WIN!" bumper sticker for winning a game, and often they want it before they call the game "boring" because they decide to cheese the AI and abuse the meta. They absolutely abhor challenging their-selves to find satisfaction in overcoming that challenge.

:roguegentleman: Notice any other patterns in these :Guardsman:? :roguegentleman:

Similar to Civ6's "Gathering Storm" DLC that added things like volcanoes, blizzards, and floods, "Cosmic Storms" is neat in a way that it makes the "map" feel less static. There's always something going on in the galaxy, even outside whatever individual empires are doing. Coupled with Grand Archive and 2 new types of space fauna, it certainly helps make each playthrough more unique.

I don't like it either. The storms should be at the planet level, not across large sections of the galaxy. I think it's dopey.

false there are buffs if you have storm relifter

The main effect of storms is negative, but most have positive after-effects as well. And you can prepare for them and benefit from them and even use them.

Your complaint is sort of like saying "Man, this game sucks because other empires attack you and take planets before you do, and that's all pure annoyance."

Its true though, A LOT of people thought the DLC was disappointing and they were right, this DLC is probably the only one people should avoid getting.

I'd say Astral Planes or First Contact are more aviodable.

Storms can be very beneficial if you lean hard into making them beneficial, that said if you do not they are indeed just annoying (in my opinion).

But its not hard to repel storms in the mid game either (at that point they largely become a non issue for a normal empire).
