planet capacity has no influence and you can reach insane assembly numbers (especially with cosmogenesis)
Regardless i just felt like asking as it is called Synthetic Fertility. Kinda a wee bit misleading if it has nothing to do with fertility. and is purely about a dooms day scenario where you either go synthetic or die.
with Synth Fertility origin you still can pick any other species from the galaxy to grow on your planets without any penalties(is it same for individualist machine empiers?)
my SF origin run i chose uplifted species for that
the only way for your species to start reproducing(become kinda "fertile"), not go extinct, is to become synthetic
Meanwhile Building a pop, while it is the most efficient. Tends to be very resource heavy. Prime example of this is cloning, each building requiring 30 food to maintain it. Robot factories requiring pops and resources in the way of alloys to make them. Alloys being fairly expensive specially in early game.
That said, you don't actual need the colony ship to be in constructions right when the Event hits that point. The Ship will always have the pop that was created on it. Prime example why i sometimes need to re modify my race because at the time of doing so. I was editing its template into something else. It is not changed because its on a colony ship. As the only pops that exist are pops that are on planets.
And lastly, what i was saying is. it seemed like the origin implied that You were going to make Synthetics Fertile like organics. Aka **synthetic** **fertility*. Robots don't produce babies, thus They don't grow pops they make them... Duhh...
But ya it seemed like this origin was going to play around with that. And be like, what if robots could make babies? Sad that they didn't do that but owell.
only downside - 3(4.5) base pop growth is weak, only cyborgs with good gestation world can make those number great(without immigration)
not gonna say anything in defence of clone vats, cause i think genetic ascension is currently too weak
but roboticists require only 2 alloys per job, up to 3 jobs per planet(third one usually available later, when economy supposed to be stronger)
so right after ascension you need to invest 4 alloys and two pops per planet, and you get 7 base pop assembly, without traits and empire-wide bonuses
i don't think you have a lot of planets at that time, so it won't harm your economy much early game and even less later, when it should be much stronger
that investment allows you to triple your total pop build speed, greatly increasing economics growth
it is debatable but still possible to use roboticists for assembling even simple early robots, not glorious synths
and best part that assembling can be combined with growing, making it even better, which make swapping robot assembly for robot pop growth a bad idea
last time i did that trick was around 3.9 patch, and all already built colony ships were changed at the moment i made all my pops synths, had to reload and make it in building process that time
not sure how are things with current patches synthetization situation
maybe difference is that with template upgrade your previous template not disappears completely, like when your species is turned into synth, no idea, just my experince
it may be that my memory is wrong, but i think i remember that feeling of disappointment, when all previously built colony ships became useless
well, misunderstanding
they are not some bio-tech artificail bodies, thats genetics stuff, they are completely artificial
anyway synthetics + fertility is a weird combination of words
