Later on in the game after some research you can unlock Celestial Manipulation, which starts you with learning how to build asteroids, but before hand allows you to build stations, it then moves onto letting you learn how make worlds which at first starts with a random generator for any class of planet that exists in the game to be built at the end, or sometimes fail and create broken/shattered worlds instead and ends with perfected world construction.

I'll be surprised if the much talked about mod "gigastructures" didn't have something that did that.

As far as I know they don't
They have pretty much *everything* but that lmao

Gigastructures DOES have tech that basically allow you to make any planet inhabitable though. Detoxify toxic planets without that Ascension perk. Glue together shattered worlds. Make a cloud city on gas giants. Turn barren worlds into whatever you want. Build special factory worlds on molten worlds. If it's a world, you can live there with the right tech!

But making a planet out of nothing? Does not have that as far as I am aware. Closest thing would be harvesting asteroids and planets for planet mass to make the completely absurd Planetcraft ships, which don't really work like worlds so much as actual planets that you fly around to murder your enemies.

Well, they do have the moon printer to print moons...

Its easy, just place a world cracker over world, wait, a bada boom. New cracked planet to the collection. That's how you make your own cracked planets.

Don't worry, there are lots of planets in galaxy. You are doing your cpu a favour late game when there is too many pops. Simply convert them all.

this is on the frontpage of the workshop atm if you want to actually build them in game. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2955920767

something like this is for if you just want to spawn them, but i prefer just changing existing planets instead of spawning them at weird spots.

I uh. That's not what the post is about, I want to make *brand new* planets, not break them!

yeah, but that's to create attack moons--not actual planetary bodies

that's not building so much as *terraforming* in an albeit very different manner.

That mod captures the essence of what I want to do--the second one you linked--however it's just spawning them in, not actually building them per say
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
