Any way to DELAY the tooltip from popping up and obscuring the screen?
Even in a config file or by mod? I can find nothing....

yes it is very annoying. i agree. all so after this update my buttons wont click. i have to move my mouse above the buttons to make them work. it's like the mouse is offset to the buttons at lest half an inch above the button i have to click. annoying as well.

This problem is because Stellaris is confused about the size of the screen versus the mouse location. Two common ways of fixing this are to Alt-Tab out of and then back into the game, or to use DirectX 9 instead of the DX 11 beta.

I think using DX11 beta as borderless window may handle it. Dx9 loads the game SO slowly... My dx11b is working fine, but the tooltips are super annoying! So HUGE and obscuring buttons and information on the screen I want to see all the time!

So, anyone interested, thanks to a little Reddit help, I fixed this with a mod:

2 seconds is the new default, easily changed by editing the mod.

You can run borderless windowed mode with DX9 just fine. In fact, on Win10 and later fullscreen exclusive mode is really running as a special form of borderless windowed mode, unless you toggle the Fullscreen Optimizations option off.

That's why screen overlays like Steam / Discord / etc now work nicely with Stellaris. Mostly.

Dx9 loads the game SO slowly...
True, but there's no other difference.
I play for hours at a time, so grabbing a drink while the game loads isn't a big deal.

As for your issue about huge buttons, what is your UI scale set to?

I didn't have huge buttons. That wasn't me.
