Failed To Create A Graphics Device

So, just last night I was playing Stellaris just fine, closed my game, did not shut off or restart my computer, hopped back on after work today and now I'm getting this error.

Failed to create a graphics device.
This might be because you have more than one screen/graphics card.
You could try to write adapter=1 in the settings.txt file.

I did exactly as the error said and upon trying to start the game again I got the exact same error. As far as I can see there is nothing wrong in my settings.txt file in terms of my display screen, and I've ALWAYS had two monitors without issue with this game. Until suddenly now it's just deciding to ♥♥♥♥ itself. Can I get some help?

Bump because I'm having the same issue. Updating my drivers fixed the problem but it came back after a couple days

I got this error and have only the one screen

Had this as well, the fix for me was to right click Stellaris in Steam and hit Properties, and under Launch Options i had to put -dx11
