"IT'S UNPLAYABLE."
The even progression timer bug is self-explanatory. I have no power over it and it destroys entire games and has done so in my past 3 saves. Same with assimilation. Feedback was given, nothing fixed.
Thanks for mentioning it. I haven't experienced this but it reminds me that the latest patch also forces my game into 4K resolution regardless of how many times I set it to native in settings. Every time I boot the game up, I must manually set it to native before starting or it completely messes up my computer by glitching windows icons and it doesn't revert until I restart.
Another bug. Keep 'em coming.
I was going to but the new CKIII dlc but the price is crazy.. i can buy entire other games for the price that would give me many hours of entertainment
"I'm using a computer from the 90s, why do I have problems?"
DirectX is a general purpose software tool to run games. The devs have not optimized the version for the functions of this game, it was optimized for DirectX 9 and not DirectX 11 and that's why it runs worse now, especially lategame. Hence "it's not finished".
Why are you being dumb?
I have quite a few hours into 3.8 with ZERO bugs ... and I am having tons of fun.
Get a new computer.
Delete your mods. Go mod free.
Telling a veteran grand strategy fan to play without mods is like telling a Formula 1 driver they need to use a Toyota Corolla in the next race.
The only mods I use are the UI mods everyone use and a few cosmetic mods, nothing that affects gameplay. I only play ironman. Thought you were being smart? You're not.
But yeah, the only bug I found so far was a random quest mark that wouldn't go away from my screen until restart, and it might be caused by mods so I didn't complain about such a minor nuisance.
I go outside and trim around the base of the flowers and shrubs in my garden ... clean up, then PLAY STELLARIS. And play. And play until the NBA playoffs came on. then watched the Miami Heat beat the Knicks and then LA beat Golden State (yea!!! two wins for me) then came back into my computer room and PLAYED STELLARIS some more until bedtime.
Thursday, I had to backwash the pool, brush the walls, then when I was done, I PLAYED STELLARIS four hours and hours.
This morning, woke up a few hours ago, took the puppy outside, came in, watched the garden for about 40 minutes doing a species count of birds for Cornell Lab's eBird (the world's Largest science project}, then just came into my computer room to PLAY STELLARIS as I wait for the wife to make breakfast. And, I will PLAY STELLARIS for hours this Saturday.
IT'S PLAYABLE. IT'S A BLAST. I"M HAVING MORE FUN THAT I EVER HAD WITH A PARADOX GAME.
Yeah, let me just forfeit ~100€ spent on a game and wait even more than the +1 year that they haven't fixed the event progress bug that can give you -30% science for the rest of the game, just because some bozo online tells me to. I'd sooner report Paradox to the European Commission for fraudulent consumer practices than do that. How much are you paid by Paradox, shill?
Also, I had that same bug, lmao. The beta universe event is busted and the situation stays there forever.
