Under One Rule RNG is infuriating
Goal make the god Emperor to survive and live through the whole game.

Made the god emperor.
Went the imperium path.
Got some annoying negative traits but manageable.
Suffered the civil war event from the origin where i only had two planets out of my original 11 and on -350 energy a month.
Went on a Crusade to reclaimed my planets.
Won the war and United on the brink of collapse All In Red.
Made him genetically enhance so he can live for 500 years.
His max level and with a lot of good traits.
The year is now 2297.
A event called Luminary Extinguished pops up.
The god Emperor is put on life support and dies at the end of the event
there is no way to save him other than prolonging the process by feeding him rare resources that increase over time.

First time getting this event even though I have done multiple playthroughs with this origin so far to try things out so it's rng I guess.

God emperor dies my economy plungers into the Dark Ages
because all of his bonuses that I have accumulated went with him

I was instantly demoralised wasn't actually expecting to Witness the Horus Heresy
and play through the golden age to the age of strife.
it was fun but annoying wasted 4 hours, there should be an option to save him
or disclaimer that this can happen or will happen on the origin.

"There is option to save him if you wait long enough"

Quit.
New game.
Got basically where I was but much further this time.
I didn't lose any planets to the Civil War.
Made him genetically enhance so he can live for 500 years again.
Ready to Conquer the Galaxy.
Got a few vassals.
Getting ready for the endgame.

The Fallen Empire declares war because I settled too close.
Easy fix I will just surrender because it's only humiliation.
Turns out the Fallen Empire assassinates your leader if you surrender.
Wish I knew that...

You asked Stellaris for a prize... and it told you no.

To add: currently the life span of synthetic rulers is miserable.

The year is 2340.
Going into synthetics from Harmony+Venerable 3 of my 12 synthetic leaders die within one month. Over the next 2 years I had to replace 10 of 12 leaders. Only the foreign non-synthetics survived.

I understand leader die, but right now Synthetics is a mistake.

Your one ruler* can actually survive the Luminary Extinguished event, albeit he is put on the "golden throne". It is a decision you can run on the capital planet after so much time has passed by trying experimental medicine.

Edit*; changed he to your one ruler.

Its understandable, even if we achieve immortality unexpected events and mistakes can still get the person. Even if we re engineer all the feedback loop like processes in the body, eventually our own engineering will create new unforeseen circumstances.

This is shown in Stellaris. The first 500 years of your empire is more like working off the dying leadership. Once lifespan gets high enough the likelihood of leaders surviving even longer increases.

´Honestly, the entire origin feels more like its entire purpose is to do its best to piss off the player

If you did the path supporting him with exotic gasses he will survive.

The first two pages of this seem like they're written by a Stellaris veteran, then he goes "I settled too close to the Militant Isolationist Fallen Empire." RIP
