Knights (Job)
Hello everyone,

does anyone know why Knights don't get any production boni even from generic sources like a governors +2% Job Output per level?

The only thing that seems to affect them is Squires and the special habitat designation, which is weird, making them a lot worse than what I thought they would be compared to administrators/researchers (as these two do get a lot of boni from all kind of sources)

I *think* its working as intended

the job isnt static, it will change as you follow the toxic god storyline

I am aware that you can change the base output

But that does not change the fact that they are not affected by any of the percentage boni you can get. And these can be a lot (Designations, Governor, Techs ...). Add to this that the ammount of Knights will always be very limited and I don't really see how they are worth it compared to getting the better features on the homeworld.

idk get the homeworld features then lol
i just put as many squire districts as i could and was happy with output ig. I usually go more RP than meta tho. just wait for one of the forum regs like ryika crusher nixboxdone, some others, one them prolly give you more info than you want haha

Just feels weird that they don't even get the generic "ALL job output" boni. I mean. It is literally ALL jobs. But apperently ALL means "All except for knights".

That's why it sounds like a bug and not intended at all.

Thats most likely intended as late game knights can be extremely broken in terms of output as is.

If they got all the bonuses then they’d have all the bonuses plus there own unique ones which no one else gets ie the squires. That’s probably why they don’t get technicians bonuses aswell. ( played kottg 3x, always went research for knights ).

Not talking about specific boni like "more output from priests" or the like. Of course this does not apply

I am talking about the super generic ones that should apply to all jobs. Nowhere in the game it is mentioned that Knights apparently are not a job (as ALL jobs does not apply to them). So either a bug or something they need to clarify in the game.

Kinda doubt it, purely maths wise there is nothing to support this. Regular researchers for example can get MORE boni (percentages) than Knights can get.

Knights give +4 Naval capacity and +2 Planetary defense armies without upgrades. Soldiers also give similar benefits.

So they aren't really unique in the way you're describing (unless you are saying this isn't happening)

If you fully spec knights into research they get 10/10/10 base output. You can easily get like 15 knights w/o any exploits for about 80-90 research output as is (and you can still get unlimited knights if you play your cards right with +5 ameneties and cybernetics/fanatic spiritualist ethics culture worker bonus). This is on top of 1,5% empire-wide alloy output increase per job.
Edit: corrected myself in unlimited knights part

Sure their BASE output is higher. But they are not affected by all the easy boni you can get (60% from the research techs alone). So in the end they are not only worse in research than a researcher, they are also highly limited in numbers.

It is quite sad that one of the most interesting features of this origin is - gameplay wise - completely useless (as in: Too bad to be of use)

Yeah they have these benefits for sure. I was talking about the research and unity output though.

If you want to add more content to the Toxic God origin here is a mod, https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2891889093

It's not about more content or not. Just have the content that is already there actually be integrated into the game and not a totally seperate thing, the only job that is not a job. (apparently)
