More knight themed origins
I really like the Toxic God origin for its Knightly aesthetic, but I cant help but feel that its a bit...limited. It would be nice to have other styles of knightly origins, like an order whos goal is to hunt down leviathans and the like.

Please no. I'm playing a sci-fi game in space, I don't need faux medieval ♥♥♥♥ here. More fantastical sci-fi stuff in space is what's needed. We already have a ♥♥♥♥ ton of games set in medieval times (far too many, if you ask me).

Doesn't help that it was/is overpowered. Perhaps, that is why you like it? I'm not sure what knight themed quests has to do with a space game. I don't think were going to see too much more knight origins considering origins are designed by uniqueness. Developers even said that's their goal.

Now before you go sulking I can say mods can do what you like. There is a lot of them. I'm sure someone else also thinks could use more knights once they see the themed origin.

Intead of an origin I would prefer a civic to allow order foundation as an edict, maybe make edict expensive so you have to actually pay some upkeep for your knights.

There are monarchies and medievhal empires everywhere in stellaris yet somehow knights are a step too far? Have you considered you might be playing a wrong ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game?

Knights and a Toxic God are so obviously Warhammer 40k + Nurgle inspired that the door for more stuff like this has been janked wide-open.

Yes.

A monarchy is simply a totalitarian form of government where power is passed on to the previous ruler's offspring. There's no reason why they would magically vanish upon reaching
the space age.

Medieval empires in the game are pre-FTL, as they should be.

Actual, honest-to-God knights that "speak" with stereotypical medieval "accents" and in a stereotypically medieval way are a step too far. They sound ridiculous and feel completely out-of-place in a sci-fi game taking place in space.

I have now, and I have concluded that you're wrong. I'm definitely playing the right ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game.

the story was fun once or twice. the gameplay/mechanical aspects of it are cool

the game absolutely does not need anything else quite like it imo. Agree with orion above me

Excedpt for literral Feudal Society civic that is present in the game that creates a litteral feudal empire in space.

You're conflating forms of government and societal structures that were common in medieval times with what I'm actually talking about regarding the knights, such as their mannerisms and speech patterns. I wonder why?
Terijian Mar 22, 2023 @ 2:36am
Monarchies exist today, whats so medieval about them?
Similar to a monarchy, fuedalism is just a governmental type. While it was extremely common in medieval europe, its not exclusive to medieval times and has been practiced at various times in different parts of the world. For example Zemene Mesafint, Fengjian, Hacienda, Sakdina, etc

Its easy to imagine a centralized political system with lots of autonomy granted to various client states, in a wide variety of environments (and indeed it has existed in many)

thats a far cry from your people speaking in 'thees' and 'thous; and generally acting like they're at a historical reenactment which is what Im forced to Imagine is being referred to.

it was fun, kinda cute, please no more lol

I thought the toxic knight thing was a boring meme.

To each their own, though i don't think we need more of the cringe content.

This is like the exact opposite attitude people should be having with their fantasy. There's no wrong way to imagine stuff, my guy... although you are certainly trying.

Honestly an order of knights dedicated to hunting leviathans like dragon-slaying knights sounds pretty sweet but we already have a dragon-themed origin.

Like it wasn't with psionics basically being contacting the chaos gods?
