Fallen Empire Buildings?
So I just managed to overpower and conquer the homeworld of a fallen empire and...all their special buildings just disappeared? The hell? I don't get to keep them anymore? When did this happen?

Either it's a bug that may be fixed in the next hotfix or it's a stealth update that came with the stealth DLC to stick the middle finger to players that could defeat a Fallen Empire.

One of the biggest challenges when taking FE planets is the massive garrisons, which usually result in most of the FE buildings getting wrecked in the process of conquering them. Try to find ways which reduce collateral damage.

I always just used the Colossus weapon that killed everyone on the planet and left the buildings intact when dealing with those annoying garrisons. Neutron Sweep I think?

Barring mods, FE buildings were always demolished when you took over their planets. It’s neither a bug nor a stealth update.

If you want to use FE buildings you’ll need to reverse engineer minor artifacts and hope for the correct outcome.

Not all buildings get downgraded, some would stay. But I've heard that FE buildings nuking themselves is a bug, something something players not meeting country type potentials.

It's a bug, has been acknowledged as such by Paradox.

The only FE buildings I can recall nuking themselves are the ones which give massive amounts of defensive armies. I've gotten their building which uses a singularity to create resources and their really nice housing before.

I think this might be more of a feature than a bug...I might play a game with one int he game again. It seems like with fallen empires they either kill you or you kill them and get their tech.

Once you get their tech, the reast of the game is kind of pointless. Or really I should just say once you can beat the FE the rest of the game is pointless even ignoring their tech. If you can take down a FE the normal AIs are going to be nothing.

Huh? This has never happened. None of them are demolished. They either remain the same (class-4 singularity building), or are converted (ancient palace or aegis complex).
