Relic Bang Sound Effect Repeating
I'm playing Vanilla Stellaris, no mods, but with all DLC including the new First Contact. I'm playing the Pay Back origin and I don't know why but every 15 seconds or so the relic bang sound effect, sorry for not knowing how to exactly describe it, keeps repeating.

It sounds like a crash and an echo, similar to some relics when you activate them. And it happens every few seconds, it's not game breaking, but mildly annoying. I closed the game and reopened it multiple times but no luck.

Huh. So THAT'S what that sound was. I thought it was just something happening that I'm not aware of
THAT'S what it is... I knew it sounded familiar. Yeah, it's made the game unplayable at the moment for me. It's frigging relentless.

I really thought I had done something strange that I could not figure out how to reverse. I'll try uninstalling fully and pulling down a clean installation. If it works, I'll update here!
I've been searching everywhere for someone else talking about a weird repetitive sound that is strident and incredibly annoying. Not sure if it's that sound, but god it makes me just save and take a break when it starts repeating every few damn seconds.

Drives me nuts
Yeah clean install did not clear it. Lots of other chatter around it seems to point to a bug that occurs after the discovery of a pre-FTL civ. Hope they patch this soon; taking a break until then.
I think it is a bug. A also noticed that the game was playing the file fc_ui_reveal_yourself_button_01.wav regularly.
ahh reveal. figured it was a bug but wondered what the sound was supposed to be for lol
I have it too its getting mildly annoying now. I have only one observation post in my empire and i noticed it after the crashed shuttle event happens.
Hope they fix the annoying "alarm" sound the pre-ftl civs you observe when their Awareness level rises or lowers or anything related to them there is huge alarm or dramatic gong. It's way too loud and those happenings repeat too often. Well, at least it's too often because of that sound, without sound would be fine lol

So need setting where at least could take the sound portion off, it showing on the up with other notions is fine, as long as can get rid of those constant alarm sounds.

Pretty much so far only problem for me this update. Outside of that been having fun on my games. :)
I think its the sound that supposed to play when you reveal yourself to pre ftl but some bug is making it fire semi-randomly
The sound is from the Awareness level changing of your observed outposts.
Nope. I have been hearing it during a game I have no outposts.
Yep, got it too.. annoying as heck
I figured it out, its definitely the has something to do with the Pre-FTL observation post.
From another thread: "Can confirm. You get the sound whether you have your own observation posts or not. That said, I do think it's observation related. My theory is that it's only meant to be set for observation events for the player, but it's accidentally set globally somehow, so that the player hears it when something observation related happens to AI/other players."
