Bugs are one thing, but it's those AI empires asking me to become my vassals, because they are mediocre performers. It almost feels as if I'm obliged to agree.
other than that it's kinda par for the course that there will be major bugs in the first month orso after a new patch, companies like to use their audience as free QA labor these days.
1: The portraits issue had nothing to do with the DLC, it came from the patch, and it was solved/rolled back already.
2: The gamebreaking bugs, all solved in a patch a long time ago, most of which were also not a part of the DLC.
3: The vassal acceptance and vassal mechanics, 90% fixed on a patch a long time ago, with a few exploits being fixed in the next one as announced.
But almost nobody ever reviews DLC, and the few who do, almost never change the reviews, so it's possible this one will stay mixed forever.
Unless you find a super negative DLC on steam, like 10% positive, it's always safe to assume that the score is meaningless and you should, instead, look at the main game's score, if the game consistently creates good DLC then the overal score will be high, else it will start declining.
This isn't some sort of golden rule, but it's true more often than not, most paradox DLC were good and added good content most people don't want to play without, and a good portion of them have mixed reviews for similar reasons, even though people still like and keep buying all of them.
Otherwise most bugs have been fixed and the last hotfix to fix the remaining bugs will be launched in a week or so.
