not seeing much in common with the expanse, though. i mean the show uses our solar system as a setting and there are multiple factions fighting over it. they have no faster than ligh travel, no shields, no pew pew lasers or other fantasy tech - mostly just stuff that might actually work in real life (other than maybe their epstein fusion drive - those things are more plot device than plausible tech)
stellaris is on a much larger scale. more like star trek or star wars or many other shows with FTL ships and interstellar civilizations.
also it takes about 10 seconds of effort to google that the plural of "polis" is "poleis" and not "poli".
ἀλήθεια;
Reminds me of that one Time Ann Rice Sued World of Darkness (Vampire the Masquerade) for copyright infringement. Wonder what ever happened with that (Not enough to actually look it up).
Most science fiction is based on roughly the same base and ideas which mostly is influenced by technological possibilities in the far far future (though most as it seems is not very possible at all from our current understanding).
Still it's like playing Rome total war and then asking if it's a rip off of 300 because there are spartan soldiers fighting with spears in the game ...
