How do I cleanse planets that have been infested by the Prethoryn Scourge?

Title pretty much covers it. All their fleets are dead (and I nabbed a Queen), but the Crisis isn't over yet because they still have a bunch of planets. Can't land armies (not even robots) because infested planets are classed as uninhabitable, and can't do anything with Science ships... hoping Orbital Bombardment will work.

I do believe you have to bombard the planet into basically a fkin wasteland to get rid of the scourge aka 100% (I believe that's the answer but I might be wrong)

Yeah, bombardment is the answer... preferably just me doing it, not the world, her husband, and her 2.3 kids getting in each other's way

The best option really is just orbital bombard the crap outta them. The more severe the bombardment stance the faster it will go.

All infested worlds were cleansed with fire, The year 2500 came and went with me in first place, but it still didn't declare me the winner. Looks like I may have to exterminate all the surviving empires... which is at least something I should want while playing the Commonwealth of Man

According to people's replies from those who've dealt with that, you kind of need to fully eradicte the inhabitants.
