Can a Renowned Leader (Paragon) become the Chosen One?

Never seen it happen. With the shroud it never has given me the option to go for it with a Paragon when giving the options of which leader in the event that can result with chosen one trait (or insta death)

there is nothing in the "utopia_shroud_events.txt" that would prevent a Paragon from becoming the Chosen One, except that they have to be psychic (which some Paragons are!)

as far as i know the "you wanna be the chosen one?" is random AF, so you might just be unlucky. Stacking imposible stuff through sheer luck is something that CAN happen too (Robot Race with Psychic trait? ... them stupid rifts and other stuff that can happen DID in fact alter it to it. didnt go the full "psyonic tree thou as i already was halveway toward nanobots). We live in strange times...

Good point! I always want Baron to be given as an option, but now I know why he never is.

only the second and third choice are completely random, the first choice is always your current ruler.
so, to guarantee that a paragon (with the psychic trait) has the chance to become the chosen, you can vote them to become your ruler if you are democratic / oligarchic.

they still might get the lowest chance to succeed out of the three options, tho

It doesn't have to be a pop with psionic trait, i once had the warform robot paragon be the chosen one which was pretty funny
