try looking in C:\Users\ <USER> \Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\crashes\

You can find the logs there and see what might be causing a crash.

In my case, for example, seem to be the "ancient cache of technology" mod

If you disabled every single mod and started the game without any mods, but it still crashed, then it's probably the game.

No? Mod conflicts exist.

On that topic, the gray goo shipset and gray temptest are causing a CTD when paired together. They're popular so they might be in your modlist.

Speaking of which, you might wanna include said modlist in the future

I forgot to add "but the game still crashed".

My point is, if you start the game 100% vanilla and it crashes, then mods are probably not to blame.

You're good, it's just that based off the OP's title vanilla isn't crashing on its own. But if it is then your right, that's another problem entirely lol
