not to mention are you basically digging your own grave using One Drive for Stellaris in the first place.
It's Microsoft. It comes built in to any current gen Windows installation, something you have to disable to avoid countless problems it causes.

it's this game and Onedrive
it's driving me crazy
Cities skyline doesn't use Onedrive, it uses the steam cloud, so a Onedrive issue wouldn't effect it.
Stellaris by default uses Onedrive, this particular issue is known and it caused by Onedrive, disabling it fixes it.
While I agree with the thing about backing up data I'm not sure where you got the idea that Onedrive is "insidious malware" it's just a cloud saving system, it's just not very good. Also you don't need to "delete" Onedrive in this case, just disable it which takes about 5-10 seconds and is not complex at all.
