Edit: To clarify, when I say that location doesn't matter, keep in mind that building a habitat over a resource unnecessarily is a waste. So, don't build a habitat over a mineral deposit and then use that to do something other than mine minerals (for example).
Thanks, didn't know they were that versatile. Is the amount of resources relevant? Or is a habitat over a +2 mineral planet just as useful as a habitat over a +10 mineral planet?
(mining habitats allways have the same amount of mining districts but in case of rare ressources you can build as many extraction buildings as the amount of the deposit)
Humans will simply use a Colossus to nuke it but the AI is hopelessly stupid when it comes to fortified positions. But if you're playing without Apocalypse DLC its extremely tedious to break such a position. 2-3 forts with a shield can buy you an enormous amount of time when placed properly.
