[RESOLVED] Paradox Launcher stuck on loading screen and preventing the games from working (unsurprisingly)
So, I went to play some Stellaris earlier today, but when I ran it the Launcher was just stuck on the loading screen. I then tried Hearts of Iron IV, and that didn't work either. I've looked here, on other forum sites, and Paradox support, but none of the solutions have worked so far... If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate any attempts at helping :)

My PC definitely meets requirements, it hasn't even been a year since I built it, and I used relatively high-end parts. I am on Linux, specifically Linux Mint (which I run alongside Windows 11), and as such use Proton to run it. Not sure if that is the problem though, as I switched over to Win11 and it did the same thing.

Did you try verifying your game files? (property->installed file->verify) Yesterday when I tried Stellaris, it would go to 38% and freeze. The verify fixed it for me.

That was the first thing I tried, as that fixed it in the past

I'm on OSX and had several issues with the launcher not working properly and constant updating with advertising that causes lots of conflict every-time it connects home.

The way I worked around it is to block the launcher to keep calling home, that has solved the constant issue of the launcher updating the advertising and downloading files that don't need to be downloaded.

The launcher is also unstable as fundamentally is web base and uses the bootstrap framework.

Try to see if this helps:
Delete Paradox Launcher via uninstall the program feature and delete Paradox Launcher folder in AppData, then install launcher again via launcher-windows-installer located in game files.
And/or delete every Paradox Launcher files in AppData/local the go to steamapps/common/hoi4 and then run launcher-windows-installer

This seemed to work... I thought I tried deleting/reinstalling it before but I must not have done it fully, thank you! :)
