Habitable planet diversity
Will ever paradox add more types of habitable planets? if we look in the scifi movies there are plenty of types of habitable planets its really boring to have 3 types of dry, wet and frozen planets why paradox dont add more habitable alienish worlds?

All of which conform to the same underlying standards of geoclimate, with varying modifiers of blockers and features and lifeforms.

So, what kind of habitable planets do you see in sci-fi movies that aren't covered by the 9 options we currently have?
Kackstift Nov 9, 2024 @ 6:20am
the important part is habitable planets.. so it covers "hot" planets, "cold" planet and moderate planet..
even the hot and cold planet are moderate. because most "real" planets are so cold there cant be a atmosphere or so hot that anything is molden rock..
what wants you more?
gas giants are a nono
or want you simply purple grass?..

After playing at least 800 hours modded I must say that you sometimes hit the point at which you just have too much.
I honestly don't need more planets than we currently have.

Just get a mod like planetary diversity if you want more planet types.

And what stops paradox to integrate that mod in the game? That mod being inregrated to the game would be very cool and would add a lot of flavour to the game

thats unnecessary
i am totaly fine with current state
maybe i would preder to reduce from 9 main types to 3, for easier terraforming managment

Like any mod, there are some people that like it, some that really don't care either way and some that hate it.

Paradox games are great because of how easy it is to mod them and customise them to your own preference.
If you want such a thing in your game, hitting the subscribe button on the mod that already gives you exactly what you want is much easier than persuading Paradox to shelve their development plans in order to spend time to make their game tailored around your personal preferences.

ahahaha funny mode on!

At the end of the tech tree you can research transgender crops.
Why is the role model for planets so harsh? And NONE of the planets for rainbows, not even the tropical ones. There is a rainbow anomaly, but turns out to be black hole bad trip.

/funny

I'd rather see them split climate preference into moisture and temperature preferences, and have habitability depend on both. Also, fix flooded habitats, add flooded ringworlds and ecumenopoleis.

Technically, Planetary Diversity recently did an update (and by recently I mean May) where instead of dozens of different habitability classes, planets are just regular classes, but then just have cosmetic modifiers on them that change the background art, so it's not nearly as complicated now.
Reducing planet types to 3 would just be too powerful, that effectively triples the number of planets that you could colonize with high habitability right out the gate

but you already can colonize them with 60% base habitability, some techs+ or adaptability trait(or tradition), and the penalty is much less than profit from that colony
some time later you can teraform it(it also much faster than terraforming between different climat types)

That's a real shame, I liked the extra depth PD added to the game back in the day. Do they at least still have sub-mods to restore the old system, or the more "spectrum"-like habitability rework submod that I know used to exist?
