Help with Space Fauna Ship Sizes in Stellaris: Grand Archive
Hi everyone!

I'm having an issue with space fauna ships in Stellaris' new Grand Archive expansion. No matter what ship size I select in the fauna designer, it keeps defaulting back to the smallest size. I've tried adjusting the size multiple times, but it just won't stick to the larger options.

Is anyone else facing this issue or knows a workaround? I've made sure my game is up to date, but it still doesn't seem to fix the problem. If anyone has encountered this and found a solution, I'd really appreciate the help!

Thanks in advance

You can "produce" at them the beastport at any size you have technological unlocked. Even with just one design for the lets say amoebe, there should appear a build option for every unlocked size in the beastport/fleet manager. (obviously all using the exact same mutations etc you choose for the small one)

While you can choose different sizes in the designer they are more something like a preview for the things on the space fauna ship that change with their size but that you can not influence.
If you have created a small ship in the designer you can still breed bigger sizes of it once you have the corresponding technologies.
When it comes to space fauna the only thing that changes with size are their predifened weapons. All the things you can change like the mutations, combat computer, drive are, with all their slots, already available on the smallest size once you have the corresponding technologies.
My guess it that is was made that way because your fauna ships can actually grow, means if you build a small ship it will grow into a large one over time.

Does "nutritient rationing" affect this?

Yeah it does. As it states:
"Cloned Space Fauna Ships no longer grow in size:"

When it comes to speed how fast they grow aside from the other option "Growth Accelerant", you have the starbase building "Vivarium Tank" (only affecting growth in that system though)

Does this mean my designed forms will NEVER reach the desired size, and I in fact can NOT spew the predefined Large or Huge form from my Hatchery?
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
