Cybernetic and Synthetic appearance

Are the cybernetic and synthetic races in Species Appearance just supposed to look like more aliens? I expected the Cybernetic ones at least to have some visible technology on them. Or did the DLC perhaps not download properly and I'm not seeing the correct appearances?
Edit: I think it's the download thing, because I've found several of the races under cybernetic in other groups like mammalian.

There should be 2 New Portrait Categorys for Synths and Cybernetics..... THIS Portraits are the Only ones who got the New "Upgrade" Feature. You can choose them as Normal Portrait (without) Enhancments or on some Level of Enhancment Allready, if you want.
All the Other Portraits which are already in Game did not get Changed.... They will still simply become changed "randomly" after the Ascnecion if they get changed at all.

No, it was the new categories I was talking about, I assumed they'd already show the cybernetics. Went through creating a race and found the Evolution Stage setting, thanks for clearing it up. :)

Fun fact: the stage thing is there for some triggers that will fire if you go through cybernetic / synthetic ascension with them, so if you plan to do that, I'd recommend starting at stage one and watching it progress ;>
