Is Astral Planes worth getting currently?
The general assessment I heard from Astral Planes reviews was "fun but overpriced", so I decided to wait for either a decent sale or more content being added (there's no way this doesn't get touched up in a Custodian patch). Well, it's been a hot minute since then, and it's now 33% off... which is still 50% more expensive than Ancient Relics (the most similar in terms of content) is at full price.

Is Astral Planes worth getting now, or should I keep waiting? And no, Season 8 isn't on my radar yet; I haven't played Stellaris in awhile (not since Galactic Paragons, which I do own), so I intend to get back into it with my old standby of a Psionic Spiritualist run. Machines or Materialists is something for a future run.

Even at the current discount its not worth it imo. I bought it and its brought very very little to the table. Its a $5 dlc at best.

I asked here and around other places myself if it was worth getting it because of its sale and only two people said yes, everyone else said no. Make of that as you will but I'm not getting it.

Imo astral rifts are just archaeology sites but more annoying since your scientist can die and it can't be someone on your council. The only things I use in the dlc are astral actions (which aren't gamechanging) and maybe some of the civics which are fun to build around but niche. It is definitely not worth the price and you aren't missing out if you don't get it.

its content. If you got the money for it, why not. if not, then thats your answer. I bought it all. Its all content.

atral rifts are like archeology sites, the more the merrier plz.

If you like exploration and storylines it is worth it.

Not for the asking price. If you can get it from approved stores for like 75% off, then maybe, but not until that. Don't listen to paradox fanboys, not every "content" is worth it.

But you're the one who thinks that Stellaris is the "best 4x game", so i don't think you're looking for advice, only confirmation.

No
Alright, I'll skip it until it's at a steeper discount or gets a Custodian pass.

Not sure where the hostility is coming from, I'm just asking if the reviews are still accurate. Why are you digging through my other forum posts to try and "catch" me? And what do you think is the best sci-fi 4X?

It's not hostility, it's a statement of my view on you, since the last time we talked in a different thread.

And the best one will always remain the same, the first master of orion. Second best for me would be either old Stellaris (up to 1.9) or Endless Space 2 if we consider only recent versions of Stellaris (which are godawful)

You're still bringing a conversation from a different thread into this one. My point stands; I've played quite a wide variety of sci-fi 4X / GS games, and while Stellaris is my favourite, I do play others on occasion depending on my mood, particularly Endless Space and GalCiv. If I play the original MoO and still prefer Stellaris after, will you concede the point?

Then why are you following me between threads to tell everyone I think "Stellaris is the best sci-fi 4X game"?

Nobody is following you lmao, you're not as important. I wrote my first message and only then realized you're one of the staunch fans.
