Could be funny if hives had some equivalent of that. Why eat enemy pops in hostile place, when i could just doordash them to my planet and eat them home :)
But on the other hand, i couldnt eat their whole planet as Terravore like that, so i guess its fine.
Militarist because it always seems to get down to war, now doesn't it?
Lithoid aquatic: --- good for armies and refinery-type goods bonus;
--- aquatic has a fabulous bonus when on an ocean world, and perks to terraform to ocean more affordably.
---Aquatic's Deluge Machine on the Colossus can quickly solve problems especially if occupying a machine world of something like that - free terraforming!
---Aquatics have habitability penalties, and the lithoid makes up for it until you can terraform everything.
Genetic - I enjoy micromanaging all the bonuses of different species.
Traits: - Technocracy and mining guilds to start.
Oligarchic - I like the various perks different candidates offer (i'm on 3.7).
I'm like Zairev, I occasionally start other builds just to see, and then just don't enjoy them.
Wait what? How do you combine lithoid with aquatic ? You mean like you have 2 different species, right?
I played both of them, but in the end i decided to go for lithoid swarm, as they can literally eat planets, offset low lifespan of overtuned, have strong armies, big bonus to habitability and also remove need for food, which is great as you can focus just on minerals. Their only weakness low pop reproduction is fully offset by hive mind.
For traits i like overtuned because i can super minmax pops for each world type.
Also its largest research focused build i could think of as it start with 40% bonus to all 3 research types, which can be boosted to 70% with edict.
They get the Gestalt economy, access to releasing vassals, great diplomacy perks, and then access to Ecu worlds AND machine worlds in the later game. 10/10 overall, even if conventional play style isn't always meta.
bonus points if you start with a lithoid servitor species, so can put off all food production until later-game.
I enjoy reading everyone's favorite builds: they're not my favorite, but I see the point, and it shows how adaptable the game is.
Step 1: Create a Post-Apocalyptic Radiotrophic Relentless industrialists species.
Step 2: Colonize everything and turn every planets into a 100% habitability Tomb world in a few years.
Optional step 3: Get Astrocreator Azaryn to terraform barren planets into Gaia worlds to turn them into Tomb worlds (sorry Azaryn, your sacrifice will probably be remembered?)
Other than that, my favorite recently has been the Under One Rule origin, there are so many variations, so many hidden bonus to find, it has been fun to explore every paths during my last few playthroughs :) . But now I'm waiting for the new Individualistic Machines build :) .
