Do your saved empires show up in "Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\user_empire_designs.txt"?
Ah sorry I missed that when reading. Glad you found a solution, happy gaming.
That's mean my folder is not updating at all? what should I do to fix it?
If you have mods figure out which one could be causing it.
If you don't have mods or removing them doesn't fix it then my guess is it's most likely an access issue, try running the game as administrator.
I also had this problem after I buy the Machine Age DLC. But after I tried to turn off the DLC, the problem still existed.
You may have a firewall that is blocking it.
Something is messed up in file permissions or worse.
It's a symptom of hardware failure.(hope it's not this)
I suggest making a post at paradoxplaza and see if someone there or a staff member can help you solve it.
After one day hard try, I solve it..... XD
Not too sure why and how, although the files have the same name, but they a different in some reason.
First, move the "user_empire_designs_v3.4.txt" out of the file.
And then start a game to create a new empire.
The game will make a new "user_empire_designs_v3.4.txt" folder.
After that copy the old content to the new file.("Don't put the original file back.")
And then it's done. Somehow the game realize the folder again and able to rewrite it.....
Anyway, if someone else had the same problem, try it.
Computers are complicated and fickle things. I'm guessing something with the original file was corrupted in some way that was not obvious. Glad you were able to solve it.
Forgot that I made this thread but yeah this was the solution I discovered when I rad into the problem originally, in my experience this fix lasts only until you next close the game.
This is getting tiresome cause I like to experiment.
